印地安人對決紅襪隊，三局下靠培瑞茲、奇普尼斯、林多的陽春砲超前比數，並自此領先到終場，最後以五比四獲勝，印地安人暌違十年後，終於在季後賽拿勝。

紅襪先發投手波瑟羅，本季拿到廿二勝（四敗），是大聯盟勝投王，生涯首度單局被敲三轟，投不滿五局就退場，印地安人先發投手包爾也只投四點二局，兩隊都提前啟用牛棚。

印地安人米勒接手投兩局無失分，蕭恩、艾倫再守住領先優勢搶勝，總教練法蘭柯納說：「我們很想拿下這場比賽，牛棚投手的表現真的很棒。」

剛在外卡驟死賽搶勝的藍鳥，昨天對戰遊騎兵，先發投手艾斯特拉達力撐八點一局、僅失一分，加上打擊火力全開，終場以十比一獲勝。

藍鳥在三局打出五分大局，五局打完已取得七分領先，艾斯特拉達說：「雖然在客場比賽，但我們很快就攻下了七分，這能夠讓主場球迷靜默無聲。」
